Now that you have decided you want to buy a house, you have to decide where! Some things to look at in deciding where in the country you’d like to move are the size of the city, weather, entertainment, infrastructures, like schools and hospitals, outdoor life, safety, politics, and cost of living. These are all important aspects that you’ll want to keep in mind when choosing that perfect home.

I however, may be a little biased. I love Arizona and think it is the perfect place to live. After moving every four years or less for the majority of my life as the daughter of an Air Force doctor, I’ve found the place that has managed to keep me for over a decade! Phoenix, it turns out, is where my heart is. The places and climates I’ve lived, couldn’t be more diverse! From Omaha, Nebraska and Grand Forks, North Dakota to Spangdahlem, Germany and Las Vegas, Nevada, I’ve tried all the different climates and locales. Here are just some of the reasons Phoenix, AZ is the place for me and definitely for you:

  1. Territory and weather

Arizonais the 6th largest state, located in the Southwestern region. Phoenix is a desert, but within a day’s drive you could be at the beach, skiing in the mountains, visiting the gorgeous and spectacular Grand Canyon or partying in Vegas.

There are seven months of beautiful weather throughout the year. in Arizona, you’ll have warm temperatures, the sun is always out, and who doesn’t love sunshine? Here you will have loads of opportunities to go outside and enjoy the outdoor activities. There are over 320 days of sun and only a few days of rain during the entire year.

  1. Great places

There are many wonderful places and amazing things to do and see here. Arizona is best known for the Grand Canyon, but that isn’t the only thing you can find here. You can watch a beautiful sunrise over Monument Valley or explore the Jerome State Historic Park. You can also go to Havasu Falls, a waterfall located along Havasu Creek, and enjoy the natural beauty. For History buffs, there is the Canyon de Chelly National Monument, where you can find the important archeological resources of more than 4000 years of human occupation. Or you can go to Bisbee and see the Copper Queen Mine, or visit the Historical Museum.

As you can see, there are many excellent, exciting, and lovely places to explore in Arizona. Natural, historical, artistic; you have it all!

  1. Reasonable cost of living

The cost of living for a four-person family in Arizona is in line with the United States average. Actually, there are some costs that are cheaper when compared to other states, such as grocery, health, median home cost, and miscellaneous, including clothing, restaurants, repairs, entertainment, and other services.

There are a multitude of jobs available throughout the state, and the rural options available make Arizona a reasonable place to live. Most households find a living arrangement that meets their needs.

  1. Job market

Speaking about jobs, the average salary by industry meets the United States general numbers. However, there are some fields above the national average, such as manufacturing, in particular. Phoenix is also one of the largest emerging industrial markets in the country. Fields like retail trade, health care, and social assistance, art, entertainment, and recreation are above the national average too. Because of tourism and its growth in the past years, there are many options available.

At the moment, the job market is growing and according to studies and predictions it is estimated that  it will continue to grow.

  1. Entertainment

Arizona is the home of several professional sports teams; the Cardinals for football, Diamondbacks for baseball, and the Suns for basketball. Did you know that there is also a growing soccer culture in Phoenix?

There are a lot of things to explore and enjoy in Arizona. You’ll find several museums available to tour, including the Center for Creative Photography, the Heard Museum, and the Phoenix Art Museum. There are many open-air performing venues thanks to the amazing weather. There is also an opera company, a symphony orchestra, and Ballet Arizona. You can find numerous theaters that provide entertainment options for you to enjoy.

  1. Golf Courses

If you are into golf, this is the perfect place for you! The high summer temperatures and the love for this sport make Arizona’s golf courses some of the most famous in the world. There are over 200 locations to choose from. Everything from small neighborhood clubs to world championship destinations!. Can you guess where two of the best courses on the planet are? In Arizona, of course! Chiricahua in Scottsdale and Desert Forest Golf Club in Carefree!

  1. Young state

Arizona is a young state, which is a positive point. According to Data USA, the median age of individuals living in Phoenix was 33 in 2016. For people that were born in the state, their average age was just 29.5. Even for foreign-born citizens and transplants, the average age is only 41. The state is getting younger, not older, as time goes by.
